My Dear Col:
The discharge of my son T. O. Ott with the number that were given the 2 hours to vacate their quarters was unable to get the clothing & other articles belonging to him. He has been returned to me almost entirely without under clothing, which were in the hands of the laundry man. I have applied to the Quartermaster Mr. W. W. White for the return
[Page 2]
of what belongs to him at the Citadel but as yet without result.
Below is a list of what is his and which I would be pleased to have forwarded to me
1 set drawing Inst. in Prof Bonds room
2 pairs drawers
2 collars
4 prs cuffs
4 shirts
1 trigonometry in guard room
10 prs socks
1 undershirt
1 sheet
1 pillow case
1 quilt
1 tin box in room occupied by himself
1 pr. Fatigue pants
1 pr. Fatigue coat
1 cap
The pants coat & cap were sent up to the Citadel (from) & by
[Page 3]
Hirsh Israel & Co. where he purchased a suit to come home in.
These articles did not arrive in the 2 hours he was allowed to remain in Citadel & he therefore had to go without some.
It is presumed that Hirsh Israel & Co. sent the package up to Citadel & it was received by some one there.
I will be pleased to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
Very Truly Yours
Jno. P. Ott, M. D.
