Dear son,
Next week at this time we’ll have the car packed and be ready to set off for Charleston. Have alot [sic] of things to be done before then, so I doubt if I’ll have time to write again. How’s things with you? I was surprised that you and Semiferro didn’t spend more time together. I wasn’t surprised that he’s not happy with his present job. For him, he’ll never be happy till he’s back with Hesting house. Let that be a lesson to you son, get all the higher education that you’ll need fo the kind of job you want, don’t settle for less.
I won’t gorget your sword, I have it on top of my dresser so that I can’t miss it. I got all the guns “stashed” away already. We just can’t wait to get started on our vacation. Looking foward to sunshine, beer, steamed crabs and lazy days & nights.

Before I forget, Mike Hassan is getting married this Saturday. Skinny, Bernie, Emma, Karen, Adam & Mary are making the trip to Kentucky for the wedding. He’s marrying a girl whose also in the Army. Aunt Bernie is shaken up about it, but hell, he’s a big boy now + should know what he wants.
Well time is running out, if I’m to get this letter to the Post Office so take care son. Will see you soon.
Love,
Mom & Dad
