Dear Sir: 

I acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 10th.inst.with receipt for the first installment of Academic fees of my son Manuel.

As per your instructions I sent by this mail to Col. Gadsden the blanck [sic] requested.

I appreciate very much what you say in regard to my boy and I expect that he will act in such a good order as to be a good and studious member of that important institution.
