Monday

Dearest,

It has been some time since I have allowed myself to indulge in the pleasure of writing to you. I do hope you will forgive the delay between letters.

I really went out on a spree this weekend. We went to services Saturday nite and then to a very enjoyable community seder. It was after this that the weekend really began. From the temple we went to the beach where several of the boys (I am not one) have a rented beach home. We stayed there untill [sic] late this afternoon. We cooked, ate, slept, raised cane and went swimming. The result as I now see it is the memory of one swell

weekend but a fairly well sunburned body (it’s only lobster red) and an almost completely depleted pocketbook. All in all, I think it was an awful lot of fun and if there are any more passovers I have to spend away from you I can think of no better way to do it.

When I came back to school this afternoon I had to go get the first of a series of injections for summer camp. A good many of the boys can’t move their arm but so far it hasn’t effected me that way yet. It better not as I got it in my left arm and I need my left hand to write to you.

I accept the offer you extended in your letter written Thursday. I will be glad to bundle with any time you find it convenient convenient. And as far as who I think I am, well, I think I can best describe it as the guy who someday hopes to be responsible for changing the title that precedes

your name from Miss to Mrs. Other than that I fear I’m nobody of any importance.

I’m sorry to hear I will not be able to be at Jan and Ben’s engagement party. Although I never say [illegible]. Some of the boys were thinking of driving up to New York this coming weekend. Maybe we’ll make it some other weekend instead. Before I confuse you, I’m not driving with them this trip. I was seriously considering it but then I changed my mind as you will be in Washington and I missed one day of classes this week and a day next week also might put me too far behind in my work. Send me the date of the party and we’ll see. Been thinking about what I just told you. Cancel that last sentence. I am not coming home until June. That’s final final.

I was extremely sorry to hear you were sick Friday. You had better be completely cured by the time this reaches you. I don’t appreciate it when you get sick and aside of that I really don’t think it accomplishes anything good. Beach weather is here already as my burn can well prove and I’m sure you don’t want to be ill when it’s time to go swimming, do you? At any rate I will be expecting a letter in a day or so saying you are good as ever.

Next time you get hold of Barbara kock knock a little sense into her for me too. Try a reason with her. Here are a few things I’d love to see you convince her of 1. She hasn’t been giving herself or him a fair chance lately due to the hard shell she has placed around her. 2. Don’t be so cold and kiss him even if it is only to show him she had a good time.

3. Make her ideal man more realistic as Prince Charming’s exist only in the [illegible] movies. I’d like to see these two get along so much as I’m crazy about both of them. But then again, who am I to choose a girl or a fellow for somebody. The only thing I have to say in conclusion is that I have a head start on Bob anyway toward getting the girl of girls. He’ll never be as fortunate as I hope to be but he should be happy with second best.

While I’m on that subject please let me know about Joyce and Eddie and Joyce and Bob. Both were fighting when I left. I do hope everything is peaches and cream by now.

Honey, it may seem by the last few paragraphs of this letter that I’ve been thinking of these other people but it was only in connecting connection with you. When I think of you and what we’ve done together they naturally fall into the picture. I really do think of

you a great deal and miss you more and more each second. The only reason I can find for this is that I love you with all my heart.

Please be good, sweets, and for heaven sakes stay well. My love to the gang and your folks.

All my love,
Arty
