My Darling,
I’ve just gotten off duty again, but didn’t have such a bad day. Received two letters from you and one from your Mother and I must say that I was certainly glad to get them. But can’t understand why you say that it might have been best if we had waited until the war is over to get married. If you’re thinking about me having to wait around ‘till you get back, don’t worry about it, because the fact still remains that I love you and it would be all the same anyway. I’m glad we’re married and hope you’ll feel the same way about it. I don’t mind waiting as long as it’s you I’m waiting for. I know that you’ll come back to me someday - and we can pick up where we left off
[Page 2]
My letters might sound as if I’m impatient at times, but naturally I want to be near the one I love and want this awful war to come to an end.
It’s the same old story. I don’t have anything new and different to tell you. Haven’t heard from Hazel in a good while now but I can’t expect to hear until I write her. I’ll do that one day soon. It seems that it’s about time for her to be getting some leave. Certainly would like to see her.
By the way, isn’t there something that you’d like for me to send you? Just let me know and I’ll do just that. Hope that you’ve received some mail by now.
Take care of yourself for me. I love you with all my heart.
All my love,
