October 30, 1857
Dear Sir
I have just received your communication. - By this time you have the statement of your son & also that of Professor Stevens in the matter of his arrest. - The only additional paper (which by the way should have been handed to Mr Mitchel when he called here on the evening of Moultrie's arrest) is the following order confirming his arrest, viz
Citadel Academy
Oct 28. 1857.
" 1. The arrest of Cadet Dwight by Professor Stevens for disrespectful conduct and disobedience of orders is hereby confirmed and continued until further orders. -
Your son has his appeal to the Chairman of the Board of Visitors - under the

provisions of the 86th Article of Regulations, a copy of which I send herewith. -
