Description

Richard Yeadon Dwight was a member of The Citadel's Class of 1856. After graduating from The Citadel, he attended the Medical College of South Carolina and practiced medicine until the Civil War broke out. He then enlisted and served as an assistant surgeon in the Confederate State's Army. After the war, Dwight continued to practice medicine until his death in 1919.

William Moultrie Dwight was Richard Dwight's brother and entered The Citadel in 1856. However, he did not return to the institution after his freshman year.
