Sunday

Dearest darling,

To say the least, it was wonderful to talk to you tonite. It really doesn’t matter what we talk about, just as long as you sound cheerful and every one and a while leave a hint that you miss me and still ove me. Incidently [sic] the phone call was not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be so I guess I’ll just have to call again in a couple of weeks. Please don’t deprive me of one of my few pleasures this quarter.

Another thing I really got quite a thrill out of was your letter. I have read and reread and got considerable enjoyment each time. In that letter you have expressed thoughts of mine. I really feel that I haven’t seen any young couple get along as well as we have for as long as we have. Nor have I seen any with as much understanding or consideration for each other (in this case, mostly the consideration you’ve had for me) as we have. I must admit though, that the other couples start at a disadvantage. None have as fine a girl to form the femine [sic] half of

the couple. If it wasn’t for your many fine qualities, I’m sure we wouldn’t be as happy as we are. I really do consider it your doing that we are as happy as we are and I can’t find the right words with which to express my thanks for finding and being able to impress a girl like you. If everyone was just half as lucky, this world would be a much finer place to live in.

I was glad to hear your cold is virtually gone but disappointed about your [illegible]. Please take care of it and yourself. You mean too much to me to let me allow you to get sick or hurt.

Time is short so I’ll continue tomorrow. Miss you terribly and love you very dearly.

All my love,
Arty
