Dearest” Boobie”,
Another day and still no mail from you. There’s always tomorrow and I certainly do look forward to it. Had a letter from Mom today and she was just hoping that I’d heard from you by now. She seemed so sure that I had. Said that she was going to write Mother Nelson a letter. By now, even the girls around here are asking if I gotten [sic] a letter yet. I’ve been keeping up with the movements of the 77th and know how busy you must be. There’s probably a delay in the mail too due to the fast moving troops etc. I tell myself all sorts of things. You should see me with my nose in a newspaper or ears glued up? to the radio most of the time. Guess I never knew what this war was really like until now, but I certainly do know now. I’ll keep my chin up
[Page 2]
though if I possibly can and work here while you’re working so hard over there. Wish it were possible for me to help you more and be by your side.
Haven’t done very much of anything today, but sleep. Don’t you agree with me that that’s a nice way to pass away the time? I found myself so thoroughly exhausted and sleepy this morning ‘till I didn’t have any trouble today - Went to a movie this afternoon with one of the girls and now am on duty again - Another night.
Take care of yourself and remember, I love you with all my heart.
All my love,
“Lib”
