Col. A. Coward

Dear Col:
With the deepest regret I read of the troubles at the old Citadel – and now write to ask you earnestly and respectfully to advise my son [illegible] as to his duty under the circumstances. He has had no experience away from home – and may be led away by bad influences. Please give him to understand that it is our wish that he obeys

implicitly the constituted actions of the Institution, and join no mob.

I have written him.

Very Respectfully
J. O’ H. Sanders
