Sat. night

Dear Folks,

Well I have gone through one more week. This past week I didn’t get a single demerit unless I got stuck for not getting a haircut.

Mom - gee - thanks a lot for those cookies you sent me. Thanks a lot. They It arrived Friday but I left them in [ink spot] P.O. until after inspection today.

Last night we had a company Dance. It was a swell dance - all the boys had a swell time because there were a lot of girls there. Sissy and about five other Ashley Hall girls were there.

That he stopped off in Sumter. We enjoyed the game but it got so cold after we had to leave.

Mom if you can find a comfort somewhere you had better send it to me. It has been cold lately and I feel that I will need more cover this winter. If you can’t can’t find a comfort anywhere please send me another blanket.

Well I think I have gotten over my after-furlough blues but still wish I could get home sometime. I don’t think that its to [sic] close to thanksgi[ink blot]ing [sic] but the longer I think of it the nearer it gets.

Pop - I went by the see Sam Bowman again today but he wasn’t in. I will try to see the Paulnots soon.

John J. Snow is down here and he have [sic] asked Ray and I out to dinner. Well I better close now [illegible deletion] because I have some other things to do.

All my love

Son
