Thursday

Dearest,

Today was a good day for me. I finally reached the end of a string of tests and then my boys came thru on the softball diamond and we won our first game of a new tournament by the score of 6 to 5. We had a 6 to 2 lead and then we blew it in the 5th inning. We haven’t practiced in quite a while and then we lost several good men as they are not eligible to play anymore. I am sure the team will shape up and we will win the regimental championship again.

I have several compliments for you. The boys that met you at the party during Christmas (The Citadel party at the [illegible]) have been saying some very nice things about you. It has made me very proud to have a girl who attracts so much attention. They mean what they say as they wouldn’t say anything if they didn’t mean it. You have a very wonderful name not only with me but with a great many of the New York boys. Please don’t feel too good as I will not give their phone number’s or addresses. I am very selfish and I want you all to my myself as I love you very much and would be lost without you.

There really isn’t too much to write about as I have been studying hard and as a result I have been a good boy. There is something I forgot to tell you. In your letter you said you were going to take a course during your two week vacation.

[Page 2]

Honestly honey, I really don’t understand you sometime. You are going to work yourself to death. Take a vacation sometime. From what I can gather you want to study 13 months a year. Please take it east honey. I am going to wait for you to graduate if you’ll give me the honor and [illegible] privilege. I mean that seriously!

Please forgive me for closing so abruptly but I have to get back to the books. Rember Remember though honey, I love you and miss you more than I can say.

Regards to your folks and the gang. Also please stay healthy and happy and then I think you’ll be on top of the world.

All my love,
Arty
