Dearest “Lib”.
Have been thinking that I should write you a note and let you know not to send that [sic] watch bands as I can buy them here. I’ve already written one letter today to you so how am I doing.
Everyone says that airmail goes out faster than v mail but v mail comes in quicker. Have just received a letter from Sam. He is located in Australia. Of course I’m not allowed to tell where we are now. I intend to write to him tonight. We aren’t separated so very far but yet too far.
[Page 2]
Received along with the letter from Sam. One from you which was written Nov. 12. Not bad at all. You must send them air mail v mail. Also received my first letter from home and lastly I received one from my aunt in Orangeburg. She said that you had been to visit them. They were crazy about you.
Tell your mother that she shouldn’t have bothered to send me anything but it was very thoughtful.
Miss you so much but am determined not to let it get me down so that I’ll come back in my right mind and healthy. With loads and loads of love I remain your devoted husband.
Love
Manning
