Personal April 9th 1898
Col A. Coward
Charleston S. C.

My Dear Sir:
Much as I regret, the expulsion of wife’s brother, Cadet Claude P Greneker, who we are all very anxious to see him graduate with honors at the Citadel. I can but approve of the

action of the Board of Visitors as it was the only thing they could do under the circumstances. I sympathize with you personally in this disrespect they have shown you and the Institution with which they were connected up to this incident; which after careful reflection they will doubtless sincerely regret. With kind regards and best wishes for the Citadel I am Very Sincerely Yours

A. C. Jones
