Charleston.

Señor: el portador, mi hijo José Leon, profundo embarcador el jueves por falta de vapor. Hoy le dirige a esa Academia y a grande ser deseo de que llegue bien y su comportamiento lo haga acreedor á su [illegible]-iración 

En carta aparte, por correo, remito á U. un giro por [illegible] $100 Cy pa. el pago del 1er plaxo [sic] de su pensión.

El necesitará un abrigo, que puede U. ordenean se le dé, avisándome su valor pa. abonarlo.

Sir Superintendent,

Military Academy.

Charleston.

Sir: My son José Leon, left on Thursday by steamboat. Today I am directing to this Academy that it is my great wish that he arrives well and his behavior is made [illegible].

In a separate letter by mail, I am sending a money order of $100 currency to pay for the first term of his pension.

He will need a coat, that you may order to give him, then advising me when to pay for it.
