Habana 28 de Octubre de 1904.

Mr. Asbury Coward

Sup’t de la South Carolina Military Academy.

Charleston.

Translation by Christian Mateo Mérida:

Havana 28 of October 1904.

Mr. Asbury Coward

Sup’t de la South Carolina Military Academy.

Charleston.

Sir:

I am grateful for your nice letter from the 22nd of this month, which I saw that without incident my two brothers in law have arrived at the Academy, Francisco and José Alba, which makes me quite happy.

I am plainly convinced that my referred brothers cannot advance in their studies, because they struggle with the difficulty of not possessing control of the English language, which is my prime objective that they learn the said language perfectly, after which they can study some of the prerequisite courses of this Academy of such a dignified position.

With nothing else from me I am pleased to repeat myself again at your service

José Perpiñán
