Sunday

Hi Honey,

It is hard to believe that one week from now I’ll be out with you. It seems so near yet there is quite a bit separating us. The thing that is on my mind right now is not the distance but four more exams. They are going to be rough ones too as my teachers promised me that. I have been studing [sic] all weekend and hope it will do some good. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please honey!

I realise [sic] that there will not be time to exchange letters concerning next Sunday morning so what ever you say will be it. I do not want a lot of confusion so you’ll be the boss as per usual. Please let me know what you decide. I was thinking about my last letter and what I said concerning this subject

and I just want to add that I did not mean to even infer that I don’t want you to meet me. Believe me it has been a pleasure I will not forget having you at the station. The only reason I wrote what I did is that I think a lot about making things as nice for you as possible and maybe I’m being selfish by putting you to all that trouble. Honestly honey, that is the only reason I wrote what I did. Enough said, and now I only await your instructions.

There doesn’t seem to be anything happening these [illegible] past few days. All the boys are studying hard for exams. You would really be amazed at the change that comes over this school. A week ago there were about one thousand seemingly happy-go-lucky cadets and now about 900 and some odd have their noses so far in the books you can’t recognize them. Even I have been studying better than 12 hours a day for the past few days.

[Page 3]

I think this will be my last letter as I have two exams Tuesday, one Wednesday and one Thursday. That doesn’t leave me much th time to write. Please understand.

I miss you honey, and I can’t wait to get home. Please be good and study real hard so you will not have much work to do over Christmas.

My regard to all - and all my love to you and you alone -

All my love,
Arty
