Wednesday
Dearest -
I am sorry I haven’t written sooner but it took me a little while to get my feet on the ground again. My teachers are really bearing down as I have less than 2 weeks of classes left.
It was good to see you honey and well worth the time and discomfort. In fact I’m ready to come running home to you right now.
My cold is almost gone. Just a few slight traces left and I have been taking the medicine you gave me. That is what cured me. See, I need you to take care of me!
I was so glad to hear that you felt at home with my parents. It means a lot to me to know that you and they get along fine as someday I am hoping - well you know the rest!
[Page 2]
My trip down wasn’t too bad as I slept a good deal of the time. I went to bed right after the train left New York and didn’t get up until about 9:30 the next morning. I tried to work on my accounting but the train jogged around so much I couldn’t work. I’ll stay in this weekend and get it done. Believe me, my trip home was well worth the weekend.
I am glad to hear your Mother is going to Washington. I know the reason is not a pleasant one but I still hope she has a good time. As for your taking care of the “Doc”, I am sure you can even as far as the cooking is concerned. I’m glad also that you are getting plenty of practice now.
Since I’ve been back there really hasn’t been much activity or news. Classes are going full blast and the talk of Christmas furlough has already begun. There is going to be another party in New York this year. This time we definitely should be able to go as it is in
[Page 3]
New York City and I’m sure we can make it. I don’t have the definite date yet but I’ll let you know as soon as I do.
This weekend we play a big rival in Football. If we beat them the season will really be a success. Look in the paper Sunday and see one of the upsets of the year when the Citadel beats the highly favored South Carolina Gamecocks. I know we are going to do it because we just have to - that’s all.
Well be good, study hard (concentrate too), take good care of “Doc”, give my best to all and remember I love you oodles and miss you already.
All my love,
Arty
