Yorkville Nov. 19th 1855
My darling Elise
I simply write you this note to assure you that I am in perfect health. I was confirmed yesterday, with some sixteen others. Two were confirmed to night. Mr. Gadsden preached twice, and has made quite a reputation. I have just returned from church, and all my accumulated business of the past three days, must be discharged before I retire; in order, therefore, to keep your injuncture not to sit up too late, I can only write you this very short note. I will write you fully on Sunday, until then, adieu, Sweet Elise. May the God I have sworn to follow, keep you under the shadow of his shield.
[Page 2]
I will write but once more. I hope to be in your dear arms on Friday week. Good-bye.
Your devoted Asbury.
