Dearest “Lib”,

Received your letter today written Nov 23 concerning your first day at the Columbia Hospital. So “Red” Wise is in love with Langston. Well, what do you know about that. Glad that Beverly is hearing from Sam often. Tell her to keep his spirits up and don’t “to time him”. Know how he must feel. Of course, he’s located in Australia which isn’t so bad as compared to this place. Have received one letter from him and have written him one. I’m afraid we won’t run into each other if my guess is right.

By the way do you remember the intern they called “Boobie” at the hospital last year with me. Well he has a nice case of G.C. To [sic] much running around I suppose. He’s still in

civilian life, the lucky boy.

Hope you like all of your patients (as patients only) as much as you liked the first one. How are they coming with the new addition. Guess Beverely is doing a little courting. Isn’t she? No I’m not acting as an agent of Sams. Sure would like to see him but the chances of that would almost be impossible.

Oh (yes). What happened to the watch you carried home. Did you give the [illegible] to daddy to get fixed? Also one other question, did you carry that watch chain along with the medical college key? I just don’t remember.

Enough of all of this. Hope that you have a Merry Christmas. Please don’t worry about me as I’m getting along fine

Don’t write all v-mail letters but write about half and half. Also don’t write a letter without sending it by air-mail as it takes at least one month to get here.

Sorry that I repeated in my previous letters the title of that picture show. This is a good picture for you to see at the present time.

Sure would like to tell you where I’m located but you know that this impossible.

Miss you so much. Hope we’ll be together by Christmas 1945. Also hope you won’t forget me by this time. I love you with all my heart.

Love
Manning.

P.S. Remember your letters are not censored.
