Dear Pa.
I received Ma’s letter yesterday. I should have written sooner but waited to see about the photographs; and was unable to get them for less than 3.00 a doz. I tried Anderson’s, Nowell’s, and Cook’s, could not get the tin types. I will try and have some taken before I come home. We went out to meet Cleaveland yesterday his wife is not as pretty as people say, (or try to make out) when she rode by our line she bowed so much that I suppose she has had stiff neck ere this. I tried to get my stand in the different branches; but was unable to do so. A catalogue will be sent you as soon as published. We have been invited to an entertainment next Friday
