Dear Ma
I received your welcome letter this morning and was very glad to hear from home. I thought that in my letter to Walter, I said that I would go to see Aunt Mary as soon as I can get someone to go with me; as soon as Aunt Lillie starts to go out again she will go with me. My teeth are not going behind hand I am taking good care of them; As for the photographs it will cost me $3; and, only at that

price when 12 of us go together. I sent the card to Aunt Sallie the day before New Year, but she has not answered my letter, yet. The general average only is taken now: The examination is not until February. I am on debate in the society to night and have to walk post besides. I am glad to hear that you all are having a good time. A new cadet arrived last night one was discharged about two weeks ago for drinking. Cadet Geraty is in our room now, he has a violin and has offered to learn me how to

I am glad to hear Mack is doing well. I went to the dancing school last night, and had a very good time. I have met several young ladies since I have been here[.] I must close now with much love for all[.]
