Dear Pa
I received your letter last night and was glad to hear from you. Aunt Lillie Miss Seppie Cousin Alice and, the children came yesterday. Aunt Sallie and Uncle Launtie gave Launtie and I a pair of shoes, and has a pair for Walter. How did the last hens hatch? are any more setting? We had our lines set and caught five large catfish. I only wish you all were down here.
Please excuse this writing for I am writing on a chair in the room, undressed ready to go in bed.

I must now close with love to all, from all, I remain your ever fond son,
Ossie
