We got leave at two-thirty Friday but I didn’t take it because I had to get ready for Saturday inspection. Friday night Ray and I went to see Olympia get beat by Charleston.

[Page 2]

The game was pretty good. Its just about eight more weeks now and I will be home for my Sept. furlough. I have changed my attitude somewhat and things are more pleasant ex-cept studying and that never has and never will be pleasant for me. Not that I will go ---- or even think about going ---- but will you have Pop send me some information on the General Motors Institute. I would like to know more about it as Dad said something about me going there after I graduate from here. Right now I think that after studying for one degree and having to struggle for it I don’t want to have to go to school anymore. Tell Pop that I am holding him to his promise to send me the written statement about not having to stay here after Christmas until the next September.

I certainly did enjoy my brief visit with you all last Saturday. I wrote dad about the trouble we had on our way back. We were 3 minutes late but don’t think that we got [illegible deletion] reported for it. Don’t think that I will come home for a few Saturdays because it makes me to homesick.

How was the trip to Abbeville? HAve you all heard from Margaret in New York yet? I do hope that she has a swell time and spends all of her money because that is what she likes to do best of all. Tell Cook that I am sorry that I missed her last Sat. but will see her late on. You all send us a cake here pretty soon please mam [sic].

You and dad write tome [sic] soon.
