Description
1st Lt. Robert Moffatt Brice, Citadel Class of 1942, was born on June 26, 1921 in Roanoke, Virginia. While at The Citadel, Brice was a member of the Varsity Football team, the Calliopean Literary Society, the Hunting Club, and the Virginia Citadel Club.
After graduation Brice was commissioned into the U. S. Army and volunteered for the Rangers. He was assigned to Company B of the 2nd Ranger Battalion.
He married Bessie Virginia Rumph on May 12, 1943.
On June, 6, 1944, D-Day, Brice’s Ranger Battalion landed on Omaha Beach. Shortly after landing, Brice was killed by machine gun fire.
Donated in May, 2025 by the American Military Museum (AMM) in memory of George E. Meagher, Citadel Class of 1954, Founder of the AMM.
